How to Eat a Birthday Cupcake

Start with a cupcake that's 1/2 frosting, 1/2 cake. A little more frosting than cake is ok, too. You'll need one candle.
While everyone sings "Happy Birthday," test the frosting to make sure it's ok.
Dig in. No hands. (Blow out candle first). But be a little lady and wait until the song is over.
Yum. Frosting.
Make sure to use your tongue for leverage.
Maybe those hand things will work better...Bingo.The one hand grab and stuff.Make a fish face to be sure you get ALL of the icing... out of your nose.Laugh at Mom and Dad. Go directly to tub. Do not pass go. Do not collect $100.

Happy 1st Birthday, Lila Bug!

Blueberry for Sal (Lila)

Carter's "I feel happy" onesie (18 mo) with cap-sleeve white button down sweater (24 mo) and Baby Gap pink romper shorts (18-24 mo). The Lila Bug is a blueberry fanatic - - as evidenced in these recent park picnic pictures! Try and say that five times fast!! This lunchtime expedition reminded me of the Blueberries for Sal book we used to read in elementary school... And did I mention that I LOVE the JJ Cole picnic blanket? It's weighted, water proof and washes effortlessly!

Visiting the Kennedy Presidential Library

Baby Gap pink hoodie (18-24 mo) and green "sweet" watermelon graphic tee (18-24 mo). Paired with Gymboree cropped jeans trimmed in green ribbon and white daisies, and pink Riley Roos (sz 3). Had a chance to visit the Kennedy Presidential Library in Boston last weekend with Grandma Robin, Aunt Sarah and Ms. Kathleen. Lila walked (with the assistance of two fingers!) most of the exhibits, and loved looking at things through the glass partitions. Our apologies to the poor employee that had to wash off all her fingerprints after we left...

Yoga Chic

Baby Gap to the rescue! On our recent trip to Massachusetts, the temperature dropped pretty unexpectedly. We ran to the local Baby Gap and picked up this adorable ivory smocked top with button down back and gray boot leg yoga pants (both 18-24 mo) for a steal. Doesn't she look comfy!?! And she loved seeing her Massachusetts family - - here are pics of (great) Grandma Joan and (great) Aunt Ann.

Snack Time Sweetie

Totally Sweet orange tank top and multicolor polka dot shorts from Gymboree (12-18 mo). So-Dorable pink hair bow. Yes - - we're apparently into accessorizing now. :0) Thanks to Laura, John, Caitlin, Jack and Matthew for the bow - - her hair can finally hold them!. Don't you love how she's 'sharing' her snack with Chaeli? I guess we should be happy she understands the concept of sharing?

Five Little Specked Frogs

Bella Tunno brown and pink bib (one size) and ketchup. Our "I'll eat anything" baby (remember the swiss chard photos?) has become a bit more a finicky eater as a toddler... while fruit and other favs like Mexican food are devoured, getting meat and veggies down sometimes takes coaxing. This week's solution? Singing Five Little Speckled Frogs... over, and over, and over, and over again. Good thing she's pretty cute and we get a kick out of the dancing...

Meeting Milkshake

BabyGap gray with multicolor polka dot romper(18-24 mo). We had the good fortune of attending KidStock 2010 this past weekend, and Lila got to meet Lisa and Mikel from one of her favorite bands - - Milkshake! Seriously, turn on a Milkshake tune and the little bug starts bouncing. You really ought to give them a listen. Check out our trip to KidStock on our other blog: (cool) progeny. Thanks to Aunt Casey and Carly for the romper!

Set Your Piggies Free

Peaches 'n Cream white, green and pink floral tiered dress with ladybug accent. Sunday afternoon at the farm - - if you've heard the Ziggy Marley "Set Your Piggies Free" song, we kept singing:
"Some times you've got to have a shoe, your foot's just got to wear it. But when there's nature to explore, then you got to grin and bare it... the greatest way to do it is to really get into it and set your piggies free!"
Hope you got to play outside, too! Thanks to Grandma Cathy for the outfit!!

Carter's yellow sunsuit with embroidered hearts (12 mo). Thanks to (great) Grandma Audrey for the cute outfit! And thanks to Aunt Kelly for hanging out, keeping up with the 'block walker' and stopping to smell ALL of the flowers in a one block radius.
