A Day Off in January

I had the day off for Martin Luther King Day today, so Lila and I got to spend the entire day together. After a quiet morning (she took a long nap and I got a ton of much-needed laundry done!), we packed up our lunch and headed over to Port Discovery, the local children's museum. She had a ball! She loved watching all of the kids climb up the three-level tree house and walking through all of the exhibits. Her favorite part was the drum circle. Personally, I thought we'd last about 2 minutes in a room with 75 kids and adults hitting percussion instruments in time - - but Lila loved her tambourine! And then, when she got a little tired of that, she loved just clapping (and jumping) to the beat.

It was a beautiful 55 degree day, so after Port Discovery we wandered around Barnes and Noble and the Inner Harbor. Lila picked out a new pop-up book called "Everyone Says I Love You" (gotta get ready for her first Valentine's Day!). A quick trip to Whole Foods to pick up some things and we were home in time for broccoli and papaya dinner (two new foods Lila is now eating - - other recent additions include cherries, blueberries, peaches, and mangoes).

Today's outfit was a pink "Hoo Loves You Baby" owl long-sleeve onesie and blue jeans with Fair Isle cuffs from Gymboree (both 12-18 months). She also had on a light pink First Impressions sweater coat - - we have gotten so much use out of this sweater since she can't stand coats! Thanks to the Krugs for the sweater jacket!
And although Pat didn't have the day off, he and Lila had a lot of fun making faces in the bathroom mirror (a favorite pastime of late) when he got home from work.
And then it was bath time and bed time. Across the Nile two-piece button-down pajamas (18-24 month). A little big, but super soft cotton and really warm! Many thanks to Grandma Cathy and Grandpa Tim for the pjs!
Chaeli wanted a good night kiss. :0)
